Competency #2: Creating Effective Learning Environments
Description of Core Competency
The purpose of this second competency is to create and provide effective learning environment for all students by understanding student's backgrounds, experiences, and expectations. Achieving this requires teachers to get to know their students by taking proactive steps to facilitate conservations and in-class activities to get to know their students. By mastering this competency, an inclusive learning environment in which all students are comfortable in expressing their thoughts should be possible.
